Coroner’s Office changes its stance in Brittany Murphy case

On the 4th anniversary of Brittany Murphy’s death, her father Angelo “AJ” Bertolotti continues to make strides towards finding justice for his late daughter and son-in-law. Alarmed by suspicious symptoms, the bereaved father never believed that both Brittany and her husband, Simon Monjack, died of pneumonia and anemia. He repeatedly requested that the Coroner’s Office test his daughter’s remains for poisons and toxins, which was never done during the original autopsy. When they refused, the determined parent sought other legal remedies. Mr. Bertolotti sued the Office of the Los Angeles Coroner and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and secured access to the specimens of blood, hair and tissue of Brittany Murphy.
